Colorgraphic Predator Pro & LT, dual/quad video cards

I'm having my system built by a local PC builder.

I want it (a Windows 2000 Pro system) to be able to drive 6 monitors.

Many people have used Matrox cards and if I went that route I would probably use 1 Matrox G400 dual head AGP card and 1 Matrox G200 quad head PCI card. However Matrox is out of stock on the quad cards.

This has lead me to find alternative cards and I think I may have found a very good solution with Colorgraphic (may be better than Matrox). I'm looking for info from anyone that might have tried any of these or similar Colorgraphic cards.

The proposal is to get 1 Colorgraphic Predator Pro dual head AGP and 1 Colorgraphic Predator Pro quad head PCI. They have 32 mb per head. I am told by Colorgraphic that this is a supported/valid combination however due to the requirements of such a demanding set of cards there are some combinations of motherboards, bios, and other hardware/software that just can't hack supporting the cards. (They have a 30 day unconditional return policy.)

The next alternative is Colorgraphic's "LT" series of the Predator cards. Different chipset with only 4mb per port. Much less demanding and usually NO trouble at all with what system they are installed in.

If you have any thoughts that you would like to share on this please do provide them to me (via this forum or PM). I would really appreciate it. If you know of another place I should post this then let me know as well.

I have considered Appian but my tendency after many looks at Matrox, Colorgraphic and Appian solutions is to put it as one of my last options of the three. I could be wrong but that was my sense of things.

Thanks,
- David I
