I have no idea what you're defending. A ship owned by Exxon, smashed into Blye reef and spilled ..11.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA million gallons of oil. They arrived at the 11 million figure by pumping the remaining oil from the boat, and doing some fuzzy math..lol Mostly what they pumped from the vessel was sea water.. so the figure in my estimation was much higher. So they lied about the amount of oil. The reef that guy hit was the brightest green spot a radar ever has or will show.. it sticks out like a sore thumb. Hey, I've commercial fished for over 20 years, I drank like a fish years ago.. you have to be half dead to hit that reef.
I lost an entire fishing season that year. Most the guys went, and then got payed by Exxon for their loss. I couldn't do it, didn't have the heart to plow around in oil pretending to fish.. so I got nothing. The value of my permits tumbled, it was years for the stocks of fish to recover. The value of fish went way down from a percieved loss in quality to Alaskan fish. We won a law suit against Exxon.. they will string paying a dime on for the next 50 years..
What do you want from me? I blame Exxon, yes, it cost me 100s of thousands of dollars, not to mention riping my heart out seeing entire scores of wildlife die. Rock cliffs that when you drove by them turned the sky black from birds flying... you got covered in shit too.. now no birds..
