You are the third person to post that tonight but this is the first time I have responded to it.

In the article it says the box is "used on some types of ballot boxes to punch votes through ballot cards, which are then tallied by computers". Is that true? I thought the punch was what was used to make the hole in the ballot. I don't know for sure but just from looking at it I would say it is used underneath the ballot to hold the key punch card. What use would that be to anyone? If someone wanted to vote on a stolen ballot card they would just punch out the numbers they wanted to get the votes. They wouldn't need the thing that holds the card would they?
