To Comply with New Federal Regulation FD, Echelon is Providing Notice of Previously Announced Inter-Quarter Conference Call

Echelon (NASDAQ: ELON) will be holding an inter-quarter conference call for investors and analysts on November 30, 2000 at 2:00 pm PST. During Echelon's Q3 earnings conference call held on October 12, 2000, Ken Oshman, Echelon's chairman, president and CEO, announced that given the new requirements of Federal Regulation FD, Echelon would most likely hold an inter-quarter conference call to update investors and analysts about Echelon.

Echelon is sending out this release only to comply with Federal Regulation FD.

Financial analysts will be notified by fax which toll-free number they should call to access the conference call. Other interested parties may listen in on the conference call via live Webcast at echelon.com. Alternatively, the general public may also access the call at an 800 number that will be posted on Echelon's web site no less than five (5) working days before November 30.
