Deepak, I've always appreciated your thoughtful analysis and mind-provoking ideas. I hope you'll continue to offer posts as you have in the past.

And I admire the fact that you took the bull by the horns and contacted ASND's investor relations people. If by chance they respond further we'll look forward to hearing about it.

One thought occurred to me and that perhaps the attack was beyond mere immediate gain. Maybe someone or some company is trying to break up the NetStar deal by driving down ASND's price. As I recall the presidents of both companies said there was not a "collar", a device that would allow a renegotiation if the price fell markedly. However, it might still allow for a "no-go" if ASND totally tanked.

Why would that be desirable to someone? Maybe a 3COM or a CSCO would want the technology but hadn't acted in time? As I recall some other company did negotiate halfheartedly and let ASND get in there; maybe now they realize the threat the combined companies represent to their own marketing efforts...just a thought.
