The Republicans do not believe in democracy any more than the Democrats. Republicans have been the moving force behind so called "tort reform" designed to make it much more difficult for injured parties to collect damages from corporations. They are even more beholden to powerful interests than the Democrats.

Both parties only believe in democracy when it benefits their financial backers. Both are totally hypocritical in this regard.

Since the Republicans are certainly more pro-energy industry than the Democrats, I can understand why most here support them. But lets not pretend that morality has anything to do with it.
