With the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the end of the Cold War more countries than ever have accepted the democratic process People now can vote and decide who will be leading them by voting. They have looked up to the United States, the longest working democracy, to teach them how to do things properly! Ex-President Jimmy Carter has travelled world-wide for the past 10 years to oversee the elections. United States has helped the world but is helpless to help herself!!! What is going on in Florida is "CAOS" it is no credit to the reputation of American democracy!!
Both side are running to courts, county courts, district court, and supreme court, and ask for and rulings that will be over-ruled, ignored, or interpreted to fit the either-side! Judges, rightfully, are reluctant to pass judgement, as it is the people who must decide not the courts!! I believe that this will end with a national crisis, and a "recession" in the year 2001, if not solved efficently and fairly.
Maybe time has come to call on Jimmy Carter?
