I don't want to give answers to all of your questions, but:

AMCC is most certainly NOT an ASIC supplier to cisco!

AMCC is no longer in the ASIC business.

They are an ASSP supplier to cerent. (and perhaps monteray as well)

cisco is not in the assp business

it makes ZERO sense for cisco to acquire amcc, there dozens of reasons merchant semiconductor companies are independent of the systems suppliers.
