Paul.....

I agree with you about this type of comment Don. It is intolerant, but no more so than the use of the word "liberal" in a pejorative sense by people that claim to have a handle on political positions they don't agree with.

As to the Boy Scouts and Novell. Novell may be prohibited from contributing to any organization that doesn't follow certain guidelines. For example the company cannot contribute to a private organization that advocates discrimination. It probably cannot contribute to religious organizations that provide services only to their members and not to non-members. Etc.

I don't think it is productive to criticize the company for following the law.>>

Peeling, slicing and dicing instincts compel me to ask on behalf of Don if you would have - for any reason - some gut sense as to where Novell stands vis a vis supporting the Morman Church. The Mormans are one of THE biggest supporters of the Boy Scouts.

Sorry, just "anudder hot potato to peel, slice and dice."

Perhaps the Boy Scouts and Mormans could try relaxing a bit. For example, dying their hair red or green would do wonders for their image. Heck, Novell could even have ONE massive PR coup on it's hands if it supported the Boy Scouts as long as they allowed some of their members to dye and wear their hair RED. Perhaps Red badges of Courage could be given out.

Giving out Red badges for singing or dancing may be another way to bridge this cultural gap.

Culturally conservative Novell in the heart of Morman country could really do a number on the entire media with this. The image shattering potential could be breathtaking. In fact they could even use the term "GOvell" in relattion to this to completely and totally shatter ALL convention while bridging all these massive cultural divides.

Like separating the Red Sea.

We are all ONE so what's the big deal??

My personal opinion on this is that as a private member organization the Boy Scouts have the right to determine their own policies as to who they allow in, etc.
Novell could really help shape a more tolerant public opinion in this national dialogue.

Comments????

Sorry for interupting Don.....

Peace.

GO!!
