The point is, if the baby is doomed (dead or brainless) so that it cannot survive (i.e. actualize on the human continuum), then Partial Birth Abortion is obviously a non-issue. If the baby is significantly deformed but can actualize, then our judging whether it should live or die is quite arbitrary and thus barbaric.
Rather than put a doomed, deformed child thru months of misery, why not use PBA?
Three reasons (1.) We cannot calculate the value of human life, even one that exists only for months, (2) We can manage pain or at least seek to better manage it without resorting to murder, (3.) We cannot know for how long the deformed child will live until it lives and dies.
If one child is projected to live only for three months and another is projected to live a year, should we kill the 3 months child, the 1 year child or both? I think it is not a decision for anyone to make. We should aim to do no harm, not arbitrarily judge who should die.
That way his/her soul goes directly to Heaven for an eternity of wonderful pleasure, much better than you could ever get on Earth?
