Very much reminds me of a sci-fi story i read once where a glimpse of the future 200+ years showed a huge american society of billions upon billions with an average iq of 83 living a complacent life of hollow pseudo-plenty- while the 'others' - a minority of intelligent folk -were virtual slaves to keep the electricity, computers, waterplants, etc. working to support those fools. sad little story. sad path we may take....
