a couple of rumors surrounding Nortel Networks (NT -2 1/4) that include impending workforce reductions and the loss of a major contract to Ciena

Given the current state of the market and what has happened to companies like NTAP, for Ciena to hold on to its current price, let alone move up, after earnings, it will have to show more than strong revenue and profit growth. One thing in this direction would one or more major wins in the RBOC space, NT's (and Lu's) traditional hunting ground.
