Activity or Achievement? Don't confuse them.

8.25.69 -- enlists in the U.S. Army?

begins working as a reporter for the Nashville Tennessean newspaper

2.27.79 -- cosponsors legislation creating the Department of Education. (A department with out a solid reputation for actually helping improve the education program in the country)

10.6.84 -- is elected to the United States Senate ( and thus began a career of championing good causes while sacrificing his principles and values for political expediency)

10.17.86 -- introduces the Campaign Limitation and Public Financing Act. (this might have been a shining moment that he has frequently ignored for political expediency)

1.12.91 -- supports the Persian Gulf War.Al Gore is one of 10 Democrats who voted with the republicans. (After selling his vote to them in exchange for prime time TV coverage)

8.6.93 -- casts the deciding vote for the administration's 1993 Economic Plan ( which was a mammoth tax increase including taxing social security earnings.)

Al Gore a hard working, but tragic man that will go to extraordinary lengths to achieve his objectives. He has proved with alarming frequency that the end he desires justifies whatever means it takes most often without regard for right and wrong.

I believe he his attentions are good, but he is misguided about how to achieve them. He also sacrifices his honor and dignity too often for him to lead this nation. I fear his failure to live by his principles, will get us into trouble.

further IMO, he fails the CEO test. he has been on the public payroll for his entire life.

(pat, I have admired your thoughts and your efforts to help us understand JDSU. The same level of effort was obviously spent creating this resume. Unfortunately, I think Mr Gore is not worthy of your efforts.)
