My poor Dad - his name is John so I think I will call him John SixPack - called me and told me his broker wants him to invest in overseas markets. His broker showed him some charts and told him that the overseas markets are where ours was before the most recent bull market run began, you know, the one that has lasted for over a decade. I said, Dad, what makes you think that the overseas markets will go up? He said, he didn't know, that was why he was calling me.

This is the guy who for years had almost everything invested in Boeing and Ethyl, and just recently diversified into growth mutual funds because that was where the greatest returns have been.

I think being a contrary indicator may be hereditary. -ng-
