Flap, what you and the partisan Democrats fail to see while you whine for re-count after re-count, is this process is happening the way it's happening, not because of Bush, but because of Florida law.

Bush and Gore can't simply make some deal and decide how the election in Florida State should be counted. This isn't a touch football pick-up-game where each sides can agree to play with 10n or 11 people. It's an election for President of the United States, and Florida law takes precedence.

Therefore, whether Bush did or didn't sign a statute in Texas requiring a manual recount is not relevant. It's simply muddying demogogic fodder, Democrats (like yourself) feel the need to toss around in a last desperate act to save your corrupt whining candidate Al Gore.

I realize the law is not something Democrats like to pay much attention to. But in America, it still matters to enough of us to make a difference.
