TV makers want to force broadcasters to add digital shows
news.cnet.com

If I am reading this correctly by 2003 all new TV’s sold must be capable of receiving digital signals. This brings up some obvious questions:

1. How many TV’s are sold in the US per year ?
2. What market share might WIND get ? and what sort of royalty will WIND get ?
3. TV’s that don’t have the digital functionality built in can be upgraded via a STB. How big is that market ?
4. Does Digital TV fall under WIND’s Platform group or Consumer group ?

Regards
JC.
