WEST PALM BEACH -- The counties carried by
George W. Bush 10 days ago have received the
largest number of overseas absentee ballots for
canvassing boards to count today.

According to a Palm Beach Post survey of 66
Florida county elections offices, 2,786 overseas
ballots had arrived by Thursday to be counted or
disqualified by elections officials when they meet
throughout the day. The 67th county,
Democratic stronghold Broward County, stored
its overseas ballots in a sealed box without
counting them, according to its absentee-ballot
supervisor, Nancy Butler.
