Thank you for the thoughts. I like the term "potential energy" - It seems like it describes sort of a local top.

I am trying to get a good sense of where something will head after it reaches a certain level or interim top - And I want to be objective about it so I can confidently bail out or sit tight.

Im not sure what works best. If I sell because the stock dips below a particular MA I might miss a good leg up. I don't understand candlestick charts etc. well enough yet to depend on them as a tool that says sell or buy.

It looks like you might use some type of contrary indicator - when everyone is cheering you might be inclined to lighten up a bit or at least take some measure to protect your position. I am wondering what I might look at as a hard core sentiment indicator for buy sell signals.

Regards,

Michael
