Yes, sounds like this would have been a red hot flyer this time last year...it has all the attributes of a tech mania favorite. In the current environment however, this company's stock would be DOA...an instant single figure stock. I don't see how they can even consider going public at the moment when a large chunk of their target customers are going to be startup dot.coms looking to fast track their websites. Much like Marc Andreessen and Netscape's belated launch of a web portal, this whole thing, while technically sounding great, is three years too late. Best thing for Loudcloud would be to stay a million miles from the public equity markets, and actually make some money instead of trying to raise it. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong. I mean, if I was launching a web-based business I'd certainly use these guys.
