OT> Take a look at this County-by-County map of the U.S. election.
usatoday.com

It is quite amazing that each of the population centers down the Eastern Seaboard, to Coastal Florida. . .up the Mississippi River where so many of our larger cities are. . . .then through the steel belt and mining belt. . . and across the primarily Mexican counties of the SouthWest. . .and up the California coast hitting every population area to the Canadian border. . . .all went to Gore. In other words, those who live in cities voted for Gore. Whereas those who live in the country voted for Bush by a long shot. Look at the figures of the square mile vote.

Clearly this nation is divided between those who live in cities and those who live in the country. This is not so much about Republican vs. Democrat states. . .but about the views of the people within those states.

The obvious liberal vs. conservative tone rings true. Now which other factors lead to this division is an interesting question. I am not going there. But the simple fact that there is such a clear and consistent division, I find absolutely fascinating.

So what would it take to close this division? Is there a person out there that could appeal to both groups? Will this gap grow as a result of this controversial election? What else could occur in our future that could be related to this division? If this division is clear to us, then could there be an enemy to the nation out there plotting to use this division against us in some way, IE: Divide and conquer? Or has this division always been pretty much the same between parties over the decades. . .thus making it insignificant?
