Gotta agree! Our energy policy is a disaster because there isn't one. Clinton took over at an incredible time for the oil markets. Desert Storm broke the back of the oil markets when we went to war to defend the critical oil producers. That broke the back for oil prices and we cycled down to new lows in the 90's. But we all knew that would be short lived because demand is growing so fast.

Bush, Cheney can turn that around for a few years but demand around the world is growing so fast that we will be in a scenerio of increasing prices for as far as I can see.

The sad thing is we should be working on alternative sources for energy. We could displace about 1/2 our oil consumption with these new technologys. It's crazy to be burning oil and gas to heat our homes when there are other sources that are much more efficient and totally clean from an environmental point. We are so hooked on oil that we have our blinders on.

The solutions are here. We should be exploiting our engineering talents and export these solutions to the world making us money in the process. Instead of giving billions and billions to other countries for oil we could turn most of that situation around and help the world in the process.

It's a subject that I've studied for years with some of my engineering friends and the problems are few to solve.

It just takes direction. I voted for Bush but I don't think he understands the problem or the solution. We can only hope!
