It doesn't take a genius to trade the stock market succesfully. Eighty percent of all mutual funds don't beat the market. Sixty percent of all investment clubs don't beat the market. Fifty-four percent of individual investors don't beat the market. What makes you think you can? Just a basic working of technical analysis and the discipline to stick to a trading method that incorporates risk managements techniques. OK, you make these broad-brush forecasts, then fall back on the old shibboleths about chart-reading and trading discipline. Ho ho ho. At 25, you have a long, long LONG time horizons. Thirty-five years until you can break the IRA piggy bank. Wall Street can't fathom anything that long. Can your swing-trading beat the index until 2035? I started with 10k a few years and now am up in the high 100s. I hope you paid off your student loans, my friend. I mean that with all sincerity.
