Perhaps there may be a reporter or two hanging around the courthouse when CCO files their lawsuit. The way to catch people's attention is to mention a dollar number. How about the 600 million barrels times $8/barrel for openers for only the St Georges Island site with additional claims to follow? That looks like $5 billion for starters. The 600 million barrels of recoverable oil (out of an estimated two billion plus) was a published estimate by CCO and the $8/barrel is the amount that Miller Oil Company received in Michigan in their sucessful inverse condemnation lawsuit.

Any reporter who bothered to look into it would find what we already know: Florida may be on the hook for a multi billion dollar liability because they prevented an American Company from drilling for oil on American property.
