A very prominent democrat and former mayor of Boston just advised Gore on FOX to concede. He says Gore is taking things perilously close to the edge. Gore jumped out of harness when they started wanting a manual recount after Bush winning the two counts (1st count and then the 2nd recount). Gore has put a black mark on the democrat party and on himself. The mayor said it appeared Gore is putting self before country. Gore should have, after the 1st recount, have said I will wait to see the final count after the absentees. If they were to go against him he should be a statesman and a patriot and concede. That is the right thing to do as a person of character. It is a critical thing to do for the sake of our country. We have accused Gore and Clinton of divisiveness for a long time, pitting socio-economic, race, creed, gender and sexual preference groups one against the other. Gore has now performed his greatest thrust at seperating the American people by refusing to be a statesman and instead being selfish and creating great anger and frustration between his followers and the rest of America. If Gore loses the absentees he should concede for his own sake (2004) and most for America. I think most of us like people with class, who know how to win and know how to lose, gracefully.
