Jozef, RE: I hope this election will be a lesson that a lot work needs to be done to remove ambiguity from the voting process.

I believe a minor change say one need to have over 1 or 2 percent majority in order to win all the electoral vote would be enough to avoid these statistically allowed error(invalid ballot, counting glitches) and below that, just make it a tide and each have half the electoral vote
