The Florida Supreme Court has enjoined (ordered) the Florida Sec. of State to not certify the votes from Florida by tomorrow. That was the legal deadline that is state law.

It means that the SC will hear arguments as to why the election should be held up. It's quite interesting. The SC will start listening to the lawyers on Monday afternoon. It is uncertain how long they plan on listening to the lawyers, but my guess is that it will be at least three or four days. That will take us to the end of next week.

After that, I suppose that the SC will have some sort of ruling about whether or not the hand counted votes will be allowed to be counted.

At that point, if the SC says the hand counted votes should be allowed, the Bush attorneys will probably argue that the entire state should have a hand count.

That would take another month probably, which would put us close to Christmas.

Then if nobody can decide who is the president...
