Thanks for your comments and the chart. Have also been watching RIMM, and see a lot of fairly similar h&s and complex h&s candidates on the Nasdaq, but I'm not sure I can agree that the volume characteristics are there. I wonder if that heavy spike on the second trough, and the failure of volume well prior to the peaks rather than at them, which also appear on other charts, throw everything off: Though Bulkowski includes at least one example which doen't precisely follow the norm, and though he also points out examples that seem to do so but fail, as I read him and Edwards & Magee, volume overall is supposed to trend downward throughout and from peak to peak, typically with higher volume on the peaks than in the troughs. Could be that true h&s's are a lot more rare than would be convenient.
