Robert, those are the numbers MSNBC is reporting. It is also estimated that Gore has picked up around 60 votes from the recounts Broward and Palm Beach. The counts are only about 15% complete and Miami-Dade has yet to begin recounting. From the intitial 1% sampling it was estimated that Gore would pick up around 2000 new votes and it appears that the recount is on track for about that number. It is doubtful that Bush could overcome this insurmountable lead with the few absentee ballots remianing to be counted. Moreover, the Florida S.Ct has handcuffed the Bush/Harris/Bush team from stealing the election through the use of premature certification. It's clear that the public will be informed of the increase in Gore's votes and when it is the Bush team will attempt to argue that Gore is only ahead because only counties favoring Gore were recounted. At that point, Bush's strategy of stalling will backfire as the American people will be fed up and demand that Bush concede. It seems that Bush is one move away from checkmate.
