i wonder how long it will take until the quality of money market fund assets enters into the debate? any accident there, and it won't be that easy anymore to get risky-looking stuff off the balance sheet, re-package it and sell it as 'investment grade' paper.
also, to achieve this miraculous transformation, one must give guarantees - and that means, although it's not on the balance sheet anymore, the risk still is.
that at least is my understanding...
interesting times about to become even more interesting? :)
