dan oz - Yes they are probably rich, though none of them are old and mean in the style of Trent Lott, Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Dick Army, et al. You are also right about the map. The progressive, modern thinking, forward looking, economic engine type of states voted for Gore while the red-necks and the good-old boys went with Bush. In other words the big GDP contributing states, with the exception of Texas, went with Gore. California, New York, Michigan, Florida etc. versus the Confederacy.
