It's really quite simple. One method has objective standards in which to measure. The other does not. One method is objective. The other is not. One district grossly favors one candidate and is controlled by very partisan emotionally charged people. The other doesn't fall prey to emotional reactions by partisan counters.

Can you imagine the pandora's box Gore has just opened up? Any candidate can now claim that "certain districts" which they might control by corruption, be given preferential treatment in the voting process. Every candidate will now take the electorate to court over the outcome and use the Florida Supreme court case to accomplish their thievery of the election.

The best thing for our country is for the Florida Supreme court to uphold the Secretary of States lawful exercise of authority. Then, after Bush is sworn in, pass national legislation to clean up the election process and bring our voting system into the 21st century.

Give Oracle a couple of billion dollars and I'll bet they could create an incredibly efficient and accurate national voting system within 2 years.
