<<OT>> Other Possible Turnaround Sectors

The TA support for a gold bull got me thinking "What else used to be strong but has been declining a long time, and is due for a resurgence?"

My suggestions:
1) Automotive carburetor manufacturers
---- These have been taking a beating for years as the fad of electronic fuel injection has grown. Surely it's only a matter of time before we return to the tried and true 'Carburetor Standard'. Astonishingly, there are now only 2,413,177 functional gasoline carburetors left in the USA. That's only one for every 87 Americans! What will happen when those Americans want their carburetors back?

B) Residential Coal-Burning Furnace Manufacturers
---- Another industry whose long term charts show it is clearly due for a rebound. Fifty years ago these heated a large percentage of American homes. For decades a conspiracy has eroded market share for coal-burners, but that conspiracy must soon collapse as an irresistible demand surges up and forces a short-squeeze.

III) Snake Oil Manufacturers (A subsector of Pharmaceuticals)
---- Early in the previous century, healthy profits were earned by companies who produced and sold products like:
"Chief Elkhip's Lumbago Cure" +
"Professor Kelpbottem's Innard Easement"
As the 20th century proceeded, Americans turned to other medical methods which were flashier and made outrageous promises. As the population ages and the cost of medical treatment increases, the time is ripe for a return to simpler, time-tested medical treatments.

-------------------------
As with gold, these are investments which have been going down so long they Must be ready to go up. A sustained bull market in gold and these industries is clearly inevitable. Only a matter of when.
The Dark Forces that have held them down will not be able to maintain their manipulation much longer in the face of declining supply and the soon-to-come surging demand.

diana
