All challenges on absentee ballots must be made prior to opening them. They are usually based on whether or not they were postmarked and signed in accordance with detailed criteria. news.excite.com

I would hope that both parties are distributing letters to their workers listing the legally acceptable reasons for absentee ballot challenges.

The challenges to the election are occurring in an adversarial process. Both parties are trying very hard to win the election, or at least to win in the court of public opinion. In the former matter they will each ultimately bow to the rule of the court with the highest authority. In the latter concern, each party tries to present their view of what is happening in the best possible light. These presentations are constructed on a sixth grade reading level. They often turn out to be distorting and inflammatory. We can see through them, and we usually find them annoying.

If it were not for a new untested ballot design in Palm Beach County, Gore would have won Florida and the presidency by about 19,000 votes on November 7. The outcome of Florida will hinge on whether or not the courts will allow a revote or an adjustment in Palm Beach County for this problem.

It does not help for you to be so bitter or angry about this. Just ask yourself, what would you be doing differently if you were in the Democrat's position? Or in the Republican's position?
