I talked to two sailors coming in from the Persian Gulf on my plane back from Europe last week. They weren't interested in voting and didn't know anyone else who had voted on their ship. They just weren't interested and they were fine with Clinton/Gore. They recently got a pay raise. The GOP propaganda machine makes it look like the military is unhappy with Clinton/Gore. These two sailors were both planning to re-enlist. They seemed quite content except for the fact that some of their friends had died on the Cole. But even that didn't bother them that much. Deaths are part of business when you're in the military. They're a tough group. They don't cry or complain. And accordingly to these two most of them are not political at all.
