You're right. Whoever the winner is they're in for a difficult time. Half the country will indeed consider them a thief, unless Bush clearly wins the totals here even after the three counties are re-counted. Right now he's ahead by 900. That's a pretty good margin. For now at least. But if it's very-very close or if Gore goes ahead then yes either man will be called a thief by the paranoid partisans on the other side. At this point however, with all the bi-partisan microscopic attention on each count, it's impossible to do anything but play fair.
