or, for that matter, Polish people

My grandfathers both came from near Krakow. Which Polish joke don't you want me to repeat?..... <vbg>

I find taking one's self or one's positions too seriously to be a real detriment to enjoying life. How about you?

Frankly, regarding my supposed sexism, you'll be happy to know that I'm in the Gore camp, believing the sexes are equal, even moreso...

Cf.: "The policy wonk pontificates: "When my sister and I were growing up, there was never any doubt in our minds that men and women were equal, if not more so. (Al Gore, quoted in The New York Times, Aug. 12.)

I believe in a woman's right to choose, I support women's pay equity, I support a woman's right to vote (though I might make an exception in your case), and I believe that women should have equal access to education and all other aspects of our lives. If that's sexist, then I'm proud of it.

Best, Ray :)
