Very interesting. I hadn't heard that credit card debt was so high, but it makes sense to me, as I think there would be a lag between the impact of a slowing economy and personal spending. Will people continue to spend (and rack up credit card debt) as they have been accustomed and at what point does it become apparent to them that they should pull in the reins? I'd think that would be late January, when the holiday bills begin to arrive.
