U.S. Robotics plans product-related announcement Reuters Story - May 27, 1997 16:56 FINANCIAL ELC US USRX V%REUTER P%RTR CHICAGO, May 27 (Reuter) - U.S. Robotics Corp said Tuesday it plans a product-related announcement on Wednesday and will hold a teleconference with analysts and reporters at 1100 CDT. A company spokeswoman declined further comment. In late February, U.S. Robotics began shipping its x2 modem which offers connnection to the Internet at speeds up to 56 kilobits per second. Shares of U.S. Robotics closed up six to 80-3/4 after some analysts said the outlook for networking companies was improving.
