... JDN ... there is an excellent economic analysis and forecast in this week's 'Barron's' dated November 20, 2000 ... perhaps the best I have read there, 'The Economist' or 'Business Week' in a long time ... I would cut and paste it here, but I let my on-line subscription to the WSJ and Barron's expire, and now get just the print editions.

... it is an interview with economist Nancy Lazar, partner of Ed Hyman of the International Strategy & Investment Group ISI.

I just stumbled upon a posting of what looks like might be the entire article

... in summary, it is bearish for equities into at least mid calendar year 2001, but she thinks that inflation is beaten for now, and the Fed's next move will be to lower rates, although not any time soon. I think she has 'totally nailed' the economic analysis and forecast - at least for now ... and who really knows about the future until it gets here.

The article is excellent ... I recommend it to all.
