Jim, I have seen only three reports on absentees ballots acceptance and non acceptance, in Escambe (?), a heavily Republican and home to many military personnel, the ratio was 150 accepted and 100 discarded. In Miami (heavily democratic) it was about 102 accepted and 105 discarded, in Broward, an extremely heavy democratic county, accepted were only 83 discarded 305 or so (by the way, of the accepted Gore had a net 16 votes gain, if the same partition is assumed for the discarded that would have been 80 votes gains). Do you see a pattern. It seems that the canvassing boards are discarding many more "dems" absentees than "reps". I understand that the total count accepted was 2200 or so on which Bush gained 630 votes, that means that in the absentees ballots Bush got 1415 votes while Gore got 785, almost a factor of 2 more for Bush than for Gore. Never in the history of the absentee ballots of Florida did we have such a lopsided count in favor of the Reps. Do you think it might be possible that the Republicans are crying "wolf" while in the meanwhile doing whatever they can to prevent absentee ballots in Dems' counties from being included and than shouting at the top of their lungs, "the Dems are discarding absentee ballots of our military". Me think that the Reps, are going a little too far. I would say that the numbers back this statement quite clearly. First they are stealing the absentee ballots, then they turn around and blame the Democrats for what they did.
