The Texas law shows the astounding hypocrisy of the current position expressed by Jr Bush and his representatives that a manual recount is a horrible methodology.

A classic case of "do as we say, not as we do".

Bush's position in 1997 was that a manual recount is preferred over an electronic recount, presumably because a manual recount is more accurate which it in fact is. The machine tabulation of punch cards is has a typical error rate of 1% to 2% and may go as high as 3% in some cases.
