I agree, but believe the old guard is too stubborn for this. Maybe a 3rd party led by Ventura could do this? Hopefully, it's not the Dem's move to the middle.

My roommate (who is interning and still in college) let me read a 10 page report he did for his sociology class last spring. His thesis was that Democrat supporters are uneducated in politics and economics. I must say the facts he used made one hell of a point. His basic point was that the Republicans make decisions based on reality (ie, tough love when needed) and that Democrats make decisions based on the way they wish things were (which is only possible if you don't understand economics and only look through rose colored glasses according to him).

I'd like the Republicans to move to the middle on social issues, because change is hard to accept (as in a 3rd party doing this) and I firmly believe the Dems will stoop to any level to keep power.
