The Bush camp can't stand it that the courts are protecting the recount. The GOP always deflects away from the fact that these recounts are totally legal and Gore has every right under Florida law to demand them. Harris tried to abort the law and stop the process so her guy could win early. Uh uh. Thank God we have non-partisan judges. Now Harris is out of the picture (I hope) with a bad reputation for life except amongst staunch Republicans. She was the one who tried to steal this election for her boss. The nation will tolerate no more such harshly partisan attacks on the vote-counting process.

Relax though Republicans. You're ahead. And Gore is not gaining fast enough. see what the GOP is doing though? Just in case Gore goes back ahead, they're gathering alol sorts of phony evidence and spreading innuendos and lies to make the counters look like crooks, when in fact those people are under constant surveillance by both sides and there is no cheating. The real cheating took place back on election day and before. "Mischief" should not be a word used by the republicans. You heard about those 4500 absentee ballots in Duvall County being gotten out of the wastebasket and filled in by Republican operatives to "correct" them. The GOP controls that county, which also threw out 15,000 votes from a black precinct of theirs. That sort of thing has been going on in the deep south for a long-long time.

We have heard of no such acts on the Democrats side. The GOP are instead blaming it on the chad. Democrats are are literally more democratic. Blacks and most women support the Democrats because they were once without votes. They seem to value their right an equal voice a little more than men do. The GOP tends to think more along the lines of that controlling things is their birth-right. I'm a fairly wealthy white male but I can't stand guys who think they're above the law. The whole Bush strategy in Florida was to shut down the election fast even though Gore by Florida law had a perfect right to demand re-counts. The Supreme Court there had no trouble protecting that process despite Ms. Harris's fascistic-like attempt to shut down democracy.

This will be suspenseful. Gore had better pick up a lot of new votes and fast. Or else it's over. If the re-counts don't put him ahead it's President Bush, even though Gore won the popular vote (contradicting almost all the polls by the way and especially that Portrait of America bullshit GOP polling "service"). They ended with Bush up by 9%. Must have polling their friends mostly.
