John, The truth is there is very little difference between Gore and Bush, and even less difference between citizens that are D's or R's. Actually, there was a some study about people's honesty and various other moral strengths and weaknesses. The researchers asked people if they stole minor things like office supplies from the office to bigger things, about lying about minor to more major things, cheating etc. One of the questions was if the respondents were Democrat or Republicans. When the responses were compared based on party affiliations, the Democrats scored substantially lower on the morality scale than Republicans. I wish I had a link to the article. I read it in a newspaper few years ago. Joe
