Gore's goofy "offer" was made after the legal deadline for requesting recounts. It was nothing more than a political gesture, and you know it.

You're "sure the offer isn't open forever."?

You need to understand something. It's rather important.

Nobody, not even Al Gore, can negotiate such a thing for the voters of Florida. It's all covered in Florida law. The voters in Florida do not need, nor is there any Florida law that applies to, Al "negotiating" some sort of bogus vote recount option for them. And it's nice that you think you know what the deadline is for the Al's bogus "offer".

Bush says yes, and then Al's lawyers go to the Florida Supreme Court and say, "We have negotiated a solution and here it is, it's not covered by any Florida laws, but what do you say? Pretty cool, eh"?

Get real!

That whole thing was a PR move, plain and simple. Just another touch football game. You're pretty smart, so I'm shocked that you didn't notice it.
