Absentee ballots in Wisconsin (in all counties I am aware of) are exactly the same ballot you get at the polls in that county. The optical scanner ones are "complete the arrow" with a graphite pencil or marker. The hand ones are "make an X in the box".

Don't know of any punch card counties here.

Another form of absentee voting takes place as well:

No one checks when you come in to vote that you are who you say you are. Just walk in, give a name, and if that person is registered - no way for a poll worker to know if that's really you - you get a ballot. If the real person comes in later and you tell them they are already checked off - well, they get a ballot too.
