RE: "This is a tragedy for the service (edit) people (end of edit) whose votes won't count through no fault of their own. "

Hi Greg,

It is a tragedy and one that I had to deal with several years ago when my absentee ballot for a Democratic candidate was determined to be a disqualifying ballot according to the overseas US Embassy that discussed this matter with me and whom answered my questions and guided me in regards to my unsuccessful attempt to vote. Contrary to what some folks on this thread appear to think, these ballots are very difficult and are so incredibly "fraud-proof" to the point that if you (as a regular, law-abiding citizen) happen to bump up against one of the 3 criteria needed to be valid, good luck - regardless of which Party you are for.

And, yes, I think it should be fixed (simply by pro-actively informing overseas folks on the directions in advance, so corrections to the application can be made prior to the election). It was a problem several years ago and continues to be one and I agree, it needs to be fixed and should be fixed now.

Regards,
Amy J
