Don't expect the Florida Supreme Court to rule on the issues now before it anytime soon. I have a gut feeling that they are going to stall until all the hand recounts are completed. The one thing that will get them off the hook is if Gore takes the lead by at least 1,000 votes. If that happens they will declare the hand recount lawful and Gore wins. If Gore leads by less than 200 votes after the recount they will rule that Ms. Harris did not abuse her discretionary powers and the certified vote on Nov. 14 stands. Bush wins. What will happen between 200 votes and 1,000 votes I have no idea.
