John,

What would you have done differently?

1. There has to be a better technology than these punch ballots with chads.
2. end elections at the same time in all states - say midnight eastern time, giving enough time to people on the west coast.
3. The rule should be that all the absentee ballots have to arrive before midnight election day, not be mailed on or before midnight. (including overseas and military)
4. If there should ever be a manual count, it should always be done in presence of 1 Republican, 1 Democrat. Many states have this. Palm Beach county's 3 Democrat panel is a joke.
5. They should throw out Motor Voter Law, invalidate all the registrations and have people start over. Proof of citizenship should be enforced. Prior to every vote, some kind of voting card should be mailed to every voter to the address where he is registered, and the voter would have to present the card when voting.
6. Get rid of mail-in vote in Oregon. Like it's not enough that we have to rely on honesty of the election officials, now we have to rely on honesty of US Postal service employees. I am not too crazy about absentee ballots in general.
7. The laws about voter tampering, buying of votes should be tough and should be enforced. The tax exempt status of anyone involved in the election on either side of the issue should be revoked.
