Re: a faulty DDR chip set

In your dreams, maybe. The 760 is a solid chipset and been shipping for a couple of weeks now with no problems reported so far.

By the way, I've seen your posts about big delays for DDR systems and gave you the benefit of the doubt. But I stopped by Best Buy tonight and the salesman said DDR systems would ship in 7 to 10 from the date ordered. Then he said the shipping time could depend on the precise configuration ordered. I asked him again if that applied to the DDR systems and he said yes, they were shipping in 7 to 10 days from the date ordered.

I also saw someone buying the floor model of their Micron Duron 750 (the salesman was trying to talk her out of it, but she talked to someone on her cell phone and then insisted that that was the only system she was interested in). Looks like either Duron is a hit, Best Buy underestimated demand, or a little of each.

On another note - that store was jammed, at 5:15 on a Sunday night the lines from the registers were down the aisles and I had to park in an adjacent parking lot. What the heck happened to the collapsing retail demand everyone was talking about?
